Minh-Quang Nguyen received a bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering from HCMC University of Technology, Vietnam, in 2003. In 2005 and 2011, he went on to receive masters and Ph.D degrees in electrical engineering from Université Laval in Quebec, Canada. In 2010, Minh-Quang joined Nutaq because of his strong interest in digital signal processing and wireless communication technologies.
Since joining Nutaq’s team, Minh has worked on many different platforms, DSPs, and FPGAs. First, he worked on an Asian military project in which he developed DSP and FPGA-based algorithms. Minh also developed FPGA-based wireless signal processing algorithms for Nutaq’s OFDM reference design. He has worked on software components for the ADAC250, Radio420X, and Perseus601X. More recently, he took part in the development of Nutaq’s Kermode platform, focusing on the high-speed FPGA digital interfaces, inter-FPGA data communication, and the master/slave FPGA configuration driver for embedded Linux. Finally, Minh works on Nutaq’s wireless products, developing digital signal processing and communication algorithms in FPGAs and host PCs for Nutaq’s wireless product line.
Multiple projects demand multiple processors and development tools. Minh works with the Texas Instrument DSP C67xx, Altera FPGA Cyclone and Stratix, and Xilinx FPGA Spartan-3, Spartan-6, Virtex-4, and Virtex-6. Also, he uses many different development tools, including TI Code Composer, Mentor Graphics HDL Designer and ModelSim, Xilinx ISE, EDK and System Generator, Eclipse IDE, Python IDE, and Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.
What are Minh-Quang’s main strengths?
Minh has a strong academic background and interest in digital signal processing, multi-carrier communications, FPGA/DSP software-defined radio, low-complexity digital circuits, and embedded systems. Minh is certainly a specialist in signal processing but he is also a highly skilled developer with a wide range of processors. We’re always impressed by his ability to see how he can rapidly understand technical problems and find high-performance solutions that involve several parts of the system.
How he adds value in our team?
With his strong expertise in signal processing, Minh brings in-depth technical knowledge to Nutaq’s data communication projects. His skills are strategic for the development of leading-edge wireless technologies for the telecommunication industry.
Nutaq is proud to count on Minh-Quang as its GSM/network software designer.
